Award: The Versatile Blogger Award

I was very excited to be nominated a few days ago @ caterpillars2butterfliesblog for the Versatile Blogger Award. If you haven’t checked out her blog, please do. There are so many feel-good, inspirational posts here and I look forward to reading them daily! Great advice. Thank you for nominating me!

1.) Thank the bloggers who nominated you and share their links.
2.) Nominate at least 10 bloggers for the award and provide links to their blogs.
3.) Also inform them about their nomination.
4.) Reveal 7 facts about yourself that your readers may not know.

-7 Things About Me-

1. I can play a handful of instruments including: Guitar, Piano, Clarinet, Saxophone, Violin, Lap harp and a few others.

2. I’m very interested in people who have experienced NDE’s or Near Death Experiences. I used to spend quite a bit of time reading and studying them.

3.  We just had 13 kittens in April. Most have gone to homes. We have 5 left. Out of these 3 you see here, we have Ash left. Can you guess which one he is? Back left. His attitude fits his look. Every one of these kittens has a different personality.  I’ll post more about them later.

4. Despite striving for a healthy lifestyle, I’ve actually struggled with food addiction since I was about 15 and continue to battle with it. I ❤ food, especially homemade baked goods like these cupcakes I made recently, or this organic Amish bread I make often. It literally melts in your mouth. Recipes to come soon.

5. I have two border collies, Cynder & Winston. You may have read about them here on my blog. I love them very much.

6. I have an extreme joy for gardening and love growing pumpkins, including giant pumpkins for the Halloween season. Halloween is my favorite time of year. I’m super excited that fall is on the way.

7. I can’t wait for the next season of Poldark in October! I’ve read the whole saga and loved the books. More Aiden Turner please. 🙂

Congratulations, Mischenko! and OMG, thanks for the nomination! I’ll do it once I catch up with my reading! I really appreciate it!
Wow, you are an excellent baker! I really want to sample these bread and cupcakes!! In particular, the icing looks beautiful! I really want Doraemon’s Anywhere Door right now so that I can pop in your house… lol

  2. Thank you so very much lovebug! So Poldark? Where have I been and what am I missing? I loved reading all of your “about me” stuff. You and I would be such good friends (chomping down our cupcakes while staring at our gardens full of healthy alternatives). I also loooove Halloween. I love to spooky up the house (but it’s kid spooky so I guess that’s more cheesy spooky). Last year we were trying to sell the house so I couldn’t do all the spiderwebs and fun stuff. It was so lame! I am excited again just thinking about how we get to decorate again this year!

    1. You’re very welcome! Poldark is a great show that’s been remade. I haven’t watched the old show, but read the books. You might like this one! Check it out. 🙂

Cool that you love Halloween! We have some things in common. Fun! I hope we can share some of our decorating ideas. 😉 Thanks so much for sharing that. I’m looking forward to learning more about you! 💖

  3. I could comment on all those answers! Congrats for your award.

1 – I played the clarinet, but that was 20+ years ago. You are talented to play so many.

2 – I haven’t really had one, or I’d share. But cool interest.

3 – Love kittens. Too adorable.

    4 – Mmm… those pics look good.

5 – Winston is my other half’s name, how funny!

6 – We share a love of Fall.

7 – Never seen it, must look it up

    1. Thanks, J. 😉 You mentioned his name before when we were talking about the inner ear disorders and I thought that was cool. I love that name and I don’t think it’s super common which is probably why I love it so much!

How cool that you played clarinet and love fall. I love that we have so much in common. We have to find out if you love Poldark or not. I think you might. It’s such beautiful filming in my opinion, plus the instrumental music is lovely. ♡♡♡ Just ask Stephanie, haha! Let me know if you watch it and thanks for sharing. 🙂

      1. I totally forgot we did talk about that with the inner ear. I remembered that part, just not the name. Oh well! I’m getting old. 🙂 I am almost done with all TV shows since season’s are over and my Netflix series just finished up. need to add a few more. Nel has a some recommendations for me too.

    2. I think Poldark is on Amazon Prime. You’ll have to let me know if you start it. Did you already watch Bloodline, House of Cards, The Americans, Outlander? Oh, there are too many. We just watched Goliath on Amazon which was good. I see so many shows that I need to watch but not enough time with reading and everything. I need to get caught up. 🙂

      1. I want to watch Outlander, but not sure it’s on Netflix? We have Netflix and Apple TV, but not Amazon Prime. I need to consider getting it. And I have HBO And Showtime, but not Starz as the cable subscriptions. Bloodline looked good.

        Liked by 1 person

    3. Yeah, Outlander is Starz. I sometimes get the Dvd’s from the library. They’re really good about keeping up with tv shows. Have you tried that? Now I’m sitting here wondering how awesome your library must be in NY. 🙂

Prime is so worth it because of the 2 day shipping as well. Between all of them, it’s hard to keep up. Bloodline is awesome for the first 2 seasons, but not sure about the last season.

      1. And it’s really not a lot of money given how much get out of Prime. We started watching Falcon Crest from the 1980s on AppleTV. Library is awesome. I just rarely go…. such a good point. I’m not taking advantage of something so simple.

        Liked by 1 person

    4. I love the library. I honestly don’t know how I’d live without it. With the large number of people in my house, I’d go broke buying reading material for everyone! 😂 Haha! My mom reads and rarely goes to the library either. It is such a huge convenience though.

I’ve never tried AppleTV. Interesting! Thanks for sharing that. 💗

I need to pick your brain on the Amazon Prime shows you watch cause I love your taste and I’ll definitely be checking out Poldark. I used to play the flute, tenor saxophone and baritone in school. I still have the flute and the sax and have been debating about picking them back up for the longest. I love food too and your kittens and dogs are so adorable! I can’t wait to see pics of your pumpkins and jack o lanterns because you are so creative and artistic! 🙂 Oh and Congratulations! I should have said that first, haha

    1. Nel, we definitely watched more Netflix shows than anything, but finished Goliath and that was pretty good. The Americans and The Man in the High Castle are all good ones. I need to see what your watching too! I need to get caught up because there are so many shows getting awesome ratings. Amazon primes worth it because I use the 2 days shipping, plus you get a free kindle book a month before release. Now that Prime music is available, there are just so many perks. It’s work every penny. There are also tons of kids shows. It’s literally cheaper to buy a book on Amazon and have it shipped to your door than buying it in the store. Ok, I’ll stop going on about that now, lol.

I can believe you played tenor and baritone! Me too! I switched to soprano for awhile because I thought I could be Kenny G. That didn’t work out and I ended up back to tenor. Were you in marching band? I’m a total dork, lol.

You’re so sweet. Thanks for all your wonderful comments! ♡♡♡

      1. Nel

Haha dorks unite! I’ve only watched Mozart in the Jungle on Prime so far and I enjoyed it cause I like symphony music. I’m going to check out The Americans and Man in High Castle now though. I didn’t do marching band unfortunately. By the time I hit high school we moved and I was home schooled for freshman and sophomore year. I had dreams of being Kenny G too! Hahaha! that’s so funny!

    2. You’ll have to let me know your thoughts when you watch them. I still recommend Bloodline on Netflix despite the bad final season.

How awesome that you were homeschooled for some time. That’s so cool! 💗👍

Congrats again! lol. I love Poldark and I can’t wait until October to see it again. 😦 I think Winston’s eyes are so beautiful and ‘eerie’ looking. Great pics! 🙂

    1. Thanks, mom. He definitely has some radar eyes, doesn’t he? It’s like they can burn a hole through you, lol! I can’t wait for Poldark either. Excited! ❤ Thanks for commenting…

  7. Thanks so much for the nomination Mischenko!

I also played the Clarinet and Saxophone. My other instrument was the Cello, and I managed to pick up a few others unofficially aswell!
I also battle with food, I cope with it much better now and have finally started losing weight but it’s a constant battle. Big hugs for your battle it’s no fun! Thankfully I can’t bake to save my life so that helps!

    1. Claire, you’re so welcome! Oh, I tried the cello, but it was hard. Kudos to you for learning clarinet, cello and sax. I’m jealous! I love listening to Yo-Yo-Ma play cello. So relaxing.

Not being able to bake would be a plus! Haha. 😉 I’ve gotten much better at controlling portions, but always seem to slip a bit. It is what it is. Thanks for sharing with me. ❤

Big congratulations Michenko! And thank you so much for the nomination, I’m totally looking forward to doing this! OMG those kittens though, ahhh my huge dream in life is to one day move to the country, live as a hermit, and have a huge cat farm. Ahhahh love kitties.
I totally relate with your food confession. I’ve always seemed to struggle with food, never quite finding a healthy balance. Likewise, despite my healthy lifestyle, it’s often so hard for me to stop at one cookie – I must have the whole box! – haha

    1. Thanks, Delphine! I was very happy to nominate you and you’re very welcome. Haha! I love cats too. You sound just like me 🙂 Cool that we have that in common! Cookies are definitely an issue for me, lol. I’m hungry just thinking about it! ❤ Thanks for commenting and sharing with me.

  15. I’m a bit slow catching up, Mischenko but have to tell you, your kittens and doggies are adorable! Give them a hug for me!

Your baking looks amazing, too. Posting the recipes is a great idea! I’m doing Atkins right now (Day 1) but it might come in handy if I go off the rails lol 😉

    1. Thanks, Jo-Ann! How sweet of you! I love them all so very much. 😉

I have the same diet issue now, off gluten again. I still have to cook for the family and will post these soon. Good luck with Adkins! I’ve never tried it. I always fall off the wagon a time or two and
cheat. Sweets always get me. 💗 Thanks for sharing! 😉

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Oh no…does gluten make you sick? So many people have that problem 😦

Sweets are definitely my weakness, especially chocolate! The good thing about Atkins is that I don’t get the cravings. So far so good, anyway!

        Liked by 1 person

    2. Yeah, Gluten really gets my immune system worked up. I can have ‘some’ but now I’ve gone overboard and Im back on the wagon, lol. Teehee

I love chocolate too! Gets me everytime. 💗 Glad you’re not hungry on the diet. That makes it so difficult! 😉
