Award: Real Neat Blog Award 1 & 2

Recently I was nominated by two bloggers, and, for the Real Neat Blog award. I’d like to thank these two wonderful people for nominating me. I hope you’ll check out both blogs if you haven’t already. They are amazing and I feel very lucky to know them both!

Here are the rules:

1. Put the award logo on your blog.

2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.

3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.

4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.

5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

Petrel41’s Questions:

1. Where do most visits to your blog come from?

I think it depends on the post. The majority overall probably come from WordPress bloggers, but certain posts bring in a lot from external sites like Facebook. My recent post with Carol Buckley was viewed mainly by her followers being redirected from her sites.

2. What is your favourite sport?

To play-basketball and frisbee. To watch-football. Go Patriots!

3. What has been a special moment for you so far in 2017?

Since I brought up the Patriots, I’ll say Superbowl 2017. I was falling asleep to avoid the anguish. Then, the unbelievable epic comeback when I thought all was lost. Amazing!

4. What is your favourite quote?

Two that I love and came across recently…

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Don’t you ever let a soul in the world tell you that you can’t be exactly who you are.”
― Lady Gaga

5. What was your favourite class when still at school?

Art and music/band. I ❤ band.

tenor (2)

6. Anything you had wished to have learned earlier?

To appreciate others, live life to the fullest, eat healthy no matter what,  not worry about what others think, accept myself for who I am no matter what someone else says because it’s the way God made me and I’m unique.  We are all unique!

7. What musical instrument have you tried to play?

I play a handful of instruments including piano, guitar, sax, and more, but I could never play a brass instrument or the flute. I tried flute and cornet, but it just didn’t work out.

Jo-Ann’s Questions:

1. What is your favourite genre?

Hands down, non-fiction memoir/biography.

2. What is the last book you read that you gave 5 Stars and what did you love about it?35655943

It Starts With L by Cassandra Fear. I loved it because it’s a good story that reminded me of something I would’ve loved reading in high school. I enjoyed it so much. It was almost nostalgic.

3. Who is your favourite author?

I can’t go with just one, so how about Jodi Picoult, Anne Rice, Jamie McGuire, Gary Paulsen, Winston Graham, Luis Carlos Montalván, Tolkien, Jack London, Roald Dahl, Diana Gabaldon, Stephenie Meyer, etc.

4. What keeps you from attaining your goals?

Family responsibilities and my health occasionally.

5. Where do you see yourself in five years?

I’m really not positive on that, but I do hope to have some writing done by then! 😉

6. What do you enjoy most about blogging?

Interacting with all of you, learning, author interaction, etc.

7. How do you start off your morning?

I start my mornings with coffee or tea either outside with the birds and fresh air, or inside catching up with updates before the sun comes up.

Thanks for the nomination, Mischenko ❤ You are too kind!
Your morning sounds so soothing, I wish I could join you 🙂
I've recently done this award, but your questions are absolutely interesting to answer.
I'll do this once I've caught up with my reading! Thank you so much once again, for the nomination ❤

  2. Joann tagged me when she got you for this one, but I hadn’t gotten a chance to it yet. Thanks for the tag though 😄! I’ll add it with Jo’s when I do it. It will likely have to wait until Sept till after my hiatus 😊 I’ve got one tag going up this week that I snagged from your blog, lol…I tagged myself…The Get to Know Me Tag with all the questions…not the one with blood type, etc. It’s scheduled to post Wed I think. I wrote it up the beginning of July (and have had to keep editing it lol) and have kept pushing it with all the award tags I kept posting but want to get it posted asap unless I wait until I get back….hmm….decisions! Running a blog is like running a country 🤣 I got your message, thanks! I’ll answer you in a bit ❤❤❤

    1. Yeah, I saw that Jo-ann nominated you, but I couldn’t resist. That’s why I thought I’d just add in that little disclaimer, heehee. The majority of the people I tag don’t do the awards. Weird. 😉 No pressure…

So, no hurry in messaging back. I just hope you’re feeling better today and are excited for your vaca.

I’ll watch for the tag! Talk soon. ❤💗❤

      1. Oh, lol. That’s odd. I try to do mine but I’m done with the Liebster Award I think after 5x, lol. Or at least for a looooong while. Well, you can consider that you tagged me in the Get to Know Me Tag and I’m doing it 😂

It’s still a yucky day. I’m feeling better than yesterday though. I blame myself since I had a really good day on Monday so cleaned 3 bathrooms…scrubbed the floors on my hands and knees then washed all my kitchen cabinets with wood soap and oil. Yeah….now every part of my body is protesting lol. I couldn’t move Tues. At least I’m feeling better every day. Heat, ice, Epsom salts, oils, and the pool seem to be helping 😊 I’m very excited! Not just for the girl time but to see my cousin 😄 He’s going to cook fabulous meals and spoil me, lol. I might just stay there 💕

Hope you are well! Talk to you later ❤❤

    2. Well, that sounds fabulous! Good company and good food is a cure all, lol. 😉

Awesome that you got all that done! That has to feel good. I know what you mean about doing too much though. Even good stress is an issue for me and too much work puts me over, holidays especially. I hope you get some good chill time in on your vacation and enjoy every minute.

I was going to suggest an Epsom bath! That’s cool that you already do that. Sometimes I add in vinegar and baking soda to really detox the system and it helps. Have you tried real essential oils? Rosemary and peppermint helps with aches if you haven’t tried it. Let me know. I don’t want to seem like I’m preaching, it’s just that these things worked for me. 😉

      Talk soon. 💗

      1. Good food and company always help!! And the mountains are so peaceful 😊

It felt good to get all that done because I live in constant guilt with what I can and can’t do every day. So any huge accomplishment feels good even if I pay for it later but I need to learn moderation since it just makes my husband really upset that I do these things that only hurt me more in the long run since I know better. But he doesn’t understand living with pain and a body that has limitations every day. Or living with guilt that I can’t do things I could do a decade ago or even 3 yrs ago.

Stress is a big one for me, which is bad since I stay stressed 98% of the time. Since I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and have panic attacks, I’m always at a high worry level anyway, so it only takes one little thing to send my stress level through the roof. Oh, the holidays are awful. Especially Christmas. I’ve just finished my semester(s) by then so am exhausted from teaching, taking classes, and finals that I’m barely hanging by a thread. Once finals were done last yr, my fibro flared so badly I was in bed unable to get in and out without help for almost 3 weeks. I had to get fentanyl patches finally for pain it was so bad. I normally do a huge Christmas dinner but I couldn’t and just did what I could while sitting down. It was horrible and the lowest point I’ve ever been with pain and just feeling so low.

Definitely looking forward to my vacation. The summer has been stressful, so it will be nice just to go away. My cousin is such fun and so relaxing. It will be nice.

I love Epsom salt baths! I’ve been using them since I was a teenager. My mom always took them 😊 I’ve added baking soda, sea salt, fresh ginger as a detox bath or added essential oils to the Epsom Salts for pain or healing…I like lavender oil to help sleep or with peppermint for my migraines and muscle pain Or the peppermint, rosemary, and ginger oils for inflammation. I like to add eucalyptus oil when I have a cold. I love essential oils, so no, lol you aren’t preaching 💗❤💗!! I love your help! I did ask for it 😉 I use a diffuser all day with different oils too. And mix my own oils in a carrier oil for massage. I need to go get a hot stone massage. Those help. Hope you are well today!! ❤❤❤ Talk to you soon!

    3. It’s insane listening to what you’re saying because you sound so much like me. Even your hub sounds like mine.

That’s what’s crazy about Fibro and many autoimmune disorders, it’s all so subjective. People can’t see what’s going on inside. Sometimes I feel like a complainer, but even though I’m off meds, I still have ailments. Sometimes new ones, and that always sparks anxiety. It sounds like you’re doing a lot of what I’ve done to control symptoms.

We have to get together and chat somehow, maybe by email. It would be easier to chat that way I think. Can you send it to me on Goodreads or should I send you mine? No pressure… Talk soon. 💗

    1. I’m so glad someone is caught up! 😉 I have to catch up with reading before I can get caught up with tags. I’m glad we have some stuff in common too! Fun! Can’t wait for your answers. 😉

      Thanks for sharing 💗
