Award: The Miranda Sings Award

I was nominated by Noriko@ BookFiendSite for The Miranda Sings Award. Up until seeing this on Noriko’s site, I’d never seen this award before. Please check out Noriko’s blog for awesome book reviews, tags, challenges, wrap-ups, awards and more.

Thanks, Noriko! I appreciate you nominating me.

  • Announce your win with a post, and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Include the featured image on your blog post.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers (or as many as you can think of) and link your awardees in the post.
  • List 7 things you love about yourself. (This can be about your appearance, your personality, your achievements, etc.)
  • Don’t use negative connotation (i.e. Don’t say things like – “I’m prettier than an average person.” or “People have told me I’m smart.” You are pretty. You are smart.)

7 Things I love about myself:

I had a long paragraph written about why it’s difficult to pick out 7 things that I love about myself, but I deleted it and I’m just going for it!

I’m healthy –  Four years ago I wasn’t. I took control and healed my body. I don’t want to talk too much about this because I already have in previous posts, but I’m happy that I don’t have to feel sick all the time, I’m off meds, and mainly just deal with fatigue at this point.

I can fix things – Since I was a child, I’ve always been a fix it Felix. I love to take things apart and figure out how to fix them. I have this old Halloween snow globe that stopped working a few years ago and I finally opened it up last year and fixed it. I’m really happy about it because it’s one I couldn’t replace.

I’m a problem solver – I feel like I’m a fairly good problem solver and also improvise well. In a college computer science course, we had to figure out this complex problem involving the distance a fly traveled around a room and I was one in a small group of people to figure it out. That made me feel awesome and really boosted my self-confidence.

I’m a good mom – I put my kids first and try to be the best mom I can be.

giphy (3).gif

I’m Creative – I enjoy creating things and have skills in sewing & quilting, crafts, drawing, painting, and needle arts like crochet and knitting. I’ve had my hands in most types of art and I love that.

I’m Unique – Everyone’s unique in their own way and this is something I love about myself. I love that I’m my own person, unique, and I don’t have to conform to be what someone else wants me to be.

I’m loving – I consider myself a loving person, caring, and compassionate to others.

My Nominees –

I know a few of you may have already received this award! No pressure in doing this if you don’t want to…

Thanks for reading! What are some things that you love about yourself? Feel free to share. 🙂

Congratulations Mischenko! I love singing and dancing even if I’m not very good at it! And I love talking. I can have a conversation for hours, haha. Oh and I love animals! I want them all. That’s the only reason I wish to be rich.

    1. Thanks for sharing, Nel. I’ve always dreamed of being a great dancer and singer and I’m not great at either, lol. Maybe one day! You are such an animal lover and I love that. I want all the animals too! ❤ Have a wonderful weekend. 😉

Thanks for the nomination honey bun!! I can totally tell just from all your posts how much of a kind and compassionate person you are. I wish I had the skill of dance and singing lol the farthest I get is loud and out-of-tune chirps from the shower – not good.
I’ve been wanting to learn how to knit forever! I’ve tried watching some Youtube videos, but I guess it really takes an extremely focused and patient person to knit. Aka: not me.

    1. You’re welcome! Delphine, don’t give up on crochet and knitting! I would recommend starting with crochet first. Once you get into it, it’s not hard. If I can do it, anyone can!

Dancing is something I’ve never been great at. Maybe one day. I’d love to take a class or something. Lol, I’m not a great singer either, but it’s’ so much fun and that’s all that matters!

Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate it so much. Have yourself a wonderful weekend! ❤

  4. Gah Mischenko! 🔥♥️🌟 You are a rock star! I would have totally written that paragraph too (I’ll make sure you follow your example and delete mine!) Congratulations on this amazingly unique award! I’ve not seen it either…

I’m so glad to hear you are healthy! I do love your recipe posts… I always check them out… even when they make me hungry! I agree that we all are unique and I love that you were able to see where you shine. That is hard to do in life at times! Thanks for nominating me! I’ll have fun with this 💗

  7. Aww, I love all these things about you! You are so amazing ❤ That quilt is fantastic!! I can sew on a button, but that is about it. I would love to be able to sew. I can paint and draw though, so I guess that is something 🙂 Thank you so much for the nomination!! You are so sweet, and I'm so sorry to just be getting to you to thank you! I'm trying to make blog rounds tonight as I can. I'm so behind on my awards and tags, but I will get to it even if it takes forever. It is listed on my spreadsheet of things to do 🙂 This might be a fast one, so I may be able to do it sooner versus later LOL. Have a great week ❤

    1. Thanks, Stephanie. You’re such a sweety! I would love to see some of your paintings and drawings! How cool. You are very welcome for the nomination. I hope you have fun with it. I’m behind too and no rush with it! I know I’ve been bombarding everyone with tags here lately. Trying to keep up. ❤

I hope your week is great too! I enjoyed chatting with you earlier. 😉

      1. Thank you! Oh wow! I have a folder somewhere of some drawing; I have drawn in years and years! Same with painting but not as long! The last I did was at one of those girls/wine things were everyone paints the same thing, lol. It wasn’t the most creative thing, but it was fun! I think it was a girl’s night right after I had Kayley, so it had to be 7 years ago 😉 Hubby bought me a full art set with a new easel, acrylics, brushes, canvases, etc for my 40th back in Feb but I’ve not touched it except to look at everything! 😦 I’ve not found the time….

No worries on the tag bombardment! I just didn’t want you to think I was ignoring it, lol. When your only posting so many times a week, it takes forever to get to them hahaha. Now if it didn’t take a zillion years to write my book reviews..over 5 like it did for Little Fires and a couple of hours for every other post, then I could post more often! LOL
Have a great week too! I’m so glad we got to chat too! I’m still working on HW..ugh. I’ve never watched that documentary lol. Tomorrow I think! 🙂

        1. The girls/wine thing sounds fun! I do hope you get to use the art set. Since I started reading more, I do less of that stuff. Plus, the kids. It’s hard to find the time, but we do art projects together and that’s fun. 💖

I’m honestly amazed with your reviews! You really make me want to write better. I often wonder if people struggle to write like I do. Sometimes it takes me forever! 😂 I know we talked about that before, but I hope that one day it will come more naturally to me. 🙂

Hope you get caught up on your work and have a wonderful day tomorrow!

        2. It was very fun! I keep getting invited to do more, but school, work, and the kids keep me busy! I’ll be happy to have this degree behind me 😉

Art with the kids sounds fun! I do some with Kayley. She loves art! My mom is an artist and my father-in-law is an architect, so I think she has their creative genes!!

Thank you about the reviews!! I really appreciate the kind words because I really, really struggle writing them, well anything actually. It seems the more I love the book, the harder it is, and I almost deleted my review for Little Fires Everywhere because I was so frustrated after several hours that it wasn’t going the way I wanted. It takes forever for me too, so you aren’t alone! Finally the words come though. Even for awards and tags, I take 2 to 3 hrs, which is crazy because I write and rewrite it or don’t know what to say, lol. That’s partially why I’m behind on them…🙄

Well, I’m in my office right now, but I had a free minute, but I should get back to work 😊 Then I’ll go home and watch that documentary lol! Have a wonderful day!!

  8. Congratulations on the award, Mischenko! Your quilt is beautiful! I used to quilt…many, many moons ago. My mom and my aunt were quilters so it was a natural hobby to pick up. I enjoyed quilting but I’m not I’m not one to sew. Oh my God, I have no patience for it! lol I’ve moved on to painting over the years but I can totally appreciate and respect the work that goes into quilting.

    1. Aww, thanks, Jo-Ann! How cool that you quilt! I know what you mean. I don’t sew like I used to. Quilting really takes patience and I struggle with patience. I really do. Some people can make these breathtaking quilts that look like masterpiece works of art and I’m just in awe. So beautiful.

Thanks for sharing, Jo-Ann. Hope you are feeling better. ❤
