Tag: The End of the Year Book Tag

I was tagged by Alex@Coffeelovingbookoholic for The End of the Year Book Tag last month. I’d like to thank Alex for the tag and please check out her blog! She has many book reviews, tags, awards, beautiful Bookstagram photos, and more!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Yes. I need to finish The Cottingley Secret. I picked this book up and started reading it, but I lost interest. It didn’t have anything to do with the book, I think I just picked it up at the wrong time. I still plan on having it read by the end of the year.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Well, these aren’t really autumnal, but I am reading the Harry Potter series which will take me to the end of the year or longer to read. I’m listening on Audible, but I may transition into some of the physical books. I really want to read the new illustrated editions too.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

I was waiting for The Wife Between Us, but then I got approved for it on NetGalley.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Hmm, only three? Okay, Little Fires Everywhere, The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding, and The Glass Castle.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

I’ll say White Fur. I have to start this soon and have a good feeling about it after seeing a few friends reviews.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?

Oh yeah, big plans for 2018. First, I plan to have better control of my TBR which has now just surpassed 10,000. There’s no way I can read all of those. I try to add books I genuinely want to read, but that’s just way too many. I also plan to have better control of my reading schedule. I tried working with lists, but find that I’m much happier just picking up a book when I want to and reading it when I feel like it. I also plan to control my ARC requesting. I requested too many this year and I’ll be lucky to have them all read and reviewed by the end of the year.

I know many people don’t like to do these tags and I may be retagging a few, but here’s who I’m tagging. No obligation to do the tag if you don’t want to!

Happy Fall!

Firstly, thanks for the tag. I will add it in the queue behind the Fall Book Tag I plan to do next week :). Secondly, book cover lust right now! I wish those were the Harry Potter covers back in the day when I was buying the books as they came out. My shelf would be so rainbow-y and beautiful! The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding is also a gorgeous cover! I don’t have a NetGalley account but I agree with reading what you want when you want/have time to. I’m just hoping I get to finish my Goodreads Challenge this year, haha. Also, I like that you are going to organize your TBR. I’ve slimmed my down a ton too. I realized I added a lot of books based off their covers and I have a habit of not keeping to that list anyway so for every new book I add, I go back and delete books I added like 3 years ago and still never read. If the opportunity randomly arises, then it’ll get re-added again. That’s just how I look at it.
Whew! Long comment. Hope you have a good weekend, Mischenko! ❤

    1. Yes! I love these covers too. I think these are the same covers for the Harry Potter ebooks too. I like the old ones too though. 🙂

I’m totally thinking about just deleting my TBR and starting fresh. It’s going to take too much time to remove all of the books that are questionable, lol. I’m going to get it done though, one way or another. That’s really smart deleting books from 3 years ago. Good tip!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Nel! Will hopefully chat soon, sweet friend! ❤

Oooh, that’s a good idea too. Completely fresh start. I’ve thought about doing that a time or two myself but my TBR is only 200 books in comparison to yours hahaha and I still don’t think I’ll read even half of them.
Yes, hope to chat soon! 😀

    1. I guess this is when the tag is supposed to be done? I noticed the “autumnal” question and figured it was supposed to be a fall tag. I started seeing this tag at the end of August! No joke. ❤ hahaha.

Hope you enjoy. It was fun for me. Have a great weekend, wonderful friend! ❤
