12 Days of Christmas Blog Challenge Day 5 – My Christmas Wish List

I came across this wonderful 12 Days of Christmas Blog Challenge over at Abbey’s blog threecatsandagirl.  It was originally introduced by abbeycoseattle when she presented it earlier this month. As soon as I saw this, I knew that it would be so much fun. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for to share some Christmas cheer on my blog. I’d like to say thanks to both of these wonderful ladies!

12 Days of Christmas

For day 5, I’m going to choose #4 – Your Christmas Wish List

As far as physical things, there isn’t really anything that I want for Christmas this year. I’m happy just to be here to celebrate with my family, but there are some things that are always on my wish list. I’ve listed them below…

jane-goodall-prayer

Here’s my Christmas wish list – 4 things that I wish for in no particular order.

1- Peace and happiness amongst mankind- I know there’s love in this world, but the hate is almost more than I can bear. Christmas time feels so full of joy and people begin to express more kindness to one another. Why can’t it be like this all the time? Sometimes I wish I could just snap my fingers and everyone would love and accept one another, or for once, I could turn on the news without being exposed to someone bashing someone else. Is it too much to ask that we try to love and accept each other no matter our likes and dislikes? Why not offer assistance to someone? Say something uplifting to someone just because. Rather than point out someone you think is negative, help them find a positive. There are many small steps we can take to try and make this world a better place. I’m far from perfect, but I am trying to heed this advice myself.

2- The complete eradication of cancer – We just received news that another one of my uncle’s has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. The vast majority of the cancers in my family are rare and hard to treat and I can’t help but fear it myself. It’s taken so many members of my family and caused so much suffering amongst people everywhere. I pray that one day there will be a cure to end all cancers.

3- The end of animal abuse worldwide, including animal endangerment – It would be wonderful if we could live on this planet along with all the animals in harmony. Every week, my good friend Nel@Reactionarytales posts about an endangered animal and many, if not most times, these animals are endangered because we’ve done something to destroy their habitat, or they’re simply killed. In addition, there are countless animals that endure cruelty and neglect from humans worldwide.

4- For every child in this world to be safe and free to have a normal and healthy childhood – I read recently that childhood cancers are on the rise and also that millions of children have suffered from malnutrition in 2017 alone because they don’t have enough food to eat. This year there were so many child abuse cases in my general area alone, let alone all the cases worldwide. There is a massive child refugee crisis right now as I type this and children have been uprooted from their homes and exposed to danger, including war. Every child deserves to learn and grow in a healthy environment and to have their needs met. They deserve to be safe.

I hope that each and every one of you have the most joyous Christmas season with your friends and families.

  1. Mischenko, these items on your wish list are simply wonderful. I lost my father to cancer 12 years ago so I witnessed how deteriorating his health had become. It was too much to bear, so I’ll second your wish to eradicate cancer. I’m also with you about peace and happiness amongst the mankind. You beautifully expressed what’s been on my mind.
Sometimes people express whatever that comes to their mind brandishing the right of free speech, but I don’t think that’s necessarily the way forward. I’d rather find a common place or compromise to make each other feel better. That way, our world will surely be a much better, comfortable place to live. Great post, Mischenko ❤

    1. Noriko, I’m so sorry to hear about your father. I can’t imagine what that must have been like for you. I hate to hear it.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I know it’s hard, but if people could just stop and think about what they’re saying, it would help so much. We need to treat others like we want others to treat us! 💖

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate you so much! 😁🤗🎁🎄

This post is gonna make me cry. It’s so beautiful! Thank you for the shout out and pointing out something I’m truly super passionate about. As for the rest, humans just really need to take care of themselves so much better. I wish it could be as simple as moving everyone full of hatred to an island by themselves to work it out of their system. Can only hope that the rest of us who believe in a better world, keep it up and spread it as much as we can. I don’t really have anything I want on my Christmas list this year. Well, there’s one thing but you already know what that is, haha. Usually we go see family but I don’t know what’s going on this year since I also just had an uncle die from blood cancer earlier this month. We’ll at least see my grandma though. 🙂 Awesome post!

    1. Nel, I’m so sorry to hear about your uncle. Ironically, the cancer that my uncle has is also a blood cancer. I just can’t stand it.

I like your island idea! I bet that would work too. I don’t think people realize how happy we could be if we just thought about how lucky we are now with all that we have.

I’ll probably message you in the next day or two. We just had one gift exchange today so it’s been sort if crazy! I’m enjoying every moment of the Christmas season and I Hope you do too! Hope all is well and chat with you soon. 💖

  3. Aww Michenko, this totally brought tears to my eyes. Not sure if that was your intention but I really felt what you wrote. I especially agree with the animal abuse wish that you wrote about. It just completely breaks my heart, animal cruelty every time I’ve ever seen it I’m sad to say that I’ve never done anything or attempted change out of fear. So perhaps this Christmas my biggest wish is to be able to finally stand up against it and try to make a change.
Anyway, wonderful post, as always, I really hope all your wishes come true this Christmas and have a happy and joyous time with your family! ❤

    1. Delphine, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I definitely didn’t mean to make you sad. I contemplated posting this today because it’s such a joyous time of year, but I’ll never understand people that hurt animals, children, or any living thing for that matter and it was on my mind. I try not to think about it, but I still do and wouldn’t it be wonderful if it never happened again? It’s far fetched, but I can’t help but wish for the change.

Thank you and I hope all is going well with you! ❤🎄 Merry Christmas to you and here’s to making a difference in 2018. 🤗

  4. The biggest thing on a wishlist like this is, in my opinion, anything and everything to do with the protection, safety, care, and love of a child. No child should ever have to endure some of the hardships and trials that they do. Many times the things children suffer are not their fault, but through the hand or fault of someone else. I would wish for their heartache to be eased and for them to know that someone cares about them.

  6. Mischenko your list made me so sad and happy at the same time. Sad that we need to wish away these things but yet happy that so many wonderful people are working and praying against them. It’s a beautiful wish list and I echo your sentiment 100%. Thanks for sharing.

On a lighter note, congrats on the top place in Jay’s poll 😄🍻 💞
    Well-deserved!!!!!

    1. I appreciate you saying that so much. It is sad and I wasn’t sure if it was a good time to talk about these things, but it’s my true wish list. Thank you for reading it. 💖
