Renée Paule is one of my favorite authors and I’ve been following her new site @ http://www.reneepaule.com for some time now. I was inspired by a post she recently wrote titled 10 Brilliant Inspirational Songs. I couldn’t help but branch off her idea and post my own favorite inspirational songs as well. What better way to start the month of March! You can check out Renée’s original post above by clicking the link and don’t forget to follow!
10 Inspirational Songs
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers “I Won’t Back Down”
I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around
But I’ll stand my ground
(I won’t back down)
Hey, baby, there ain’t no easy way out
(I won’t back down)
Hey, I will stand my ground
And I won’t back down”
The Beatles “Let It Be”
“And when the night is cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow
Let it be
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be”
Des’ree “You Gotta Be”
“You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day”
Kenny Loggins “Danger Zone”
“You’ll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go.”
George Strait “You’ll Be There”
“From the beginning of creation, I think our maker had a plan
For us to leave these shores and sail beyond the sand
And let the good light guide us through the waves and the wind
To the beaches in a world where we have never been
And we’ll climb up on a mountain, y’all we’ll let our voices ring
Those who’ve never tried it, they’ll be the first to sing”
Survivor “Eye of the Tiger” (Rocky)
“Risin’ up, straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I’m not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive”
Eminem “Guts Over Fear”
“I was afraid to
Make a single sound
Afraid I will never find a way out, out, out
Afraid I never before
I didn’t wanna go another round
An angry man’s power will shut you up
Trip wires fill this house with tip-toe love
Run out of excuses with every word
So here I am and I will not run
Guts over fear, (The time is here)
Guts over fear, (I shall not tear)
For all the times I let you push me around
And let you keep me down
(Now I got) Guts over fear, guts over fear”
Bob Marley “Could You Be Loved”
So while you point your fingers someone else is judging you)
Love your brotherman
(Could you be, could you be, could you be loved?
Could you be, could you be loved?
Could you be, could you be, could you be loved?
Could you be, could you be loved?)
Or even rearrange ya
Oh, no
We’ve got a life to live
They say: only, only
Only the fittest of the fittest shall survive
Stay alive
Eh”
James Taylor “Fire And Rain”
Overcoming struggle and adversity…
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it’ll turn your head around.
Well, there’s hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things to come.
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground.”
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend,
But I always thought that I’d see you again.
Bobby McFerrin “Don’t Worry Be Happy”
“Now there, is this song I wrote
I hope you learned note for note
Like good little children, don’t worry, be happy
Now listen to what I said, in your life expect some trouble
When you worry you make it double
But don’t worry, be happy, be happy now”

All of these songs are great and for sure inspiring. ‘Fire and Rain’ was my go to song after my sister passed away. Seasons in the Sun (TerryJacks) was another one. Nice post! 💓

Wow, I didn’t even know that. I love “Fire and Rain” and it’s amazing what he went through before he wrote that song. It’s actually about three different events in his life including a death. So sad, but I take it as overcoming struggle. I’ll have to look up “Seasons in the Sun”. Thanks so much for sharing! ❤

I hope you do it! Renee has some great posts. It was so fun and I’d love to see your songs. I had “Don’t Stop Believing” on my list, but couldn’t find one that wasn’t a live performance. I love that song though. “Single Ladies” is good too! Great picks. Thanks for checking it out. ❤

Let It Be! Accept it. Don’t try to change it. You can’t change it. It is what it is.
