Last November, I was nominated for the Brotherhood of the World Award by Noriko @ Diaryofabookfiend. I’m sure all of you have already discovered Noriko’s beautiful book blog. If you haven’t, be sure to head over there for some amazing book reviews! Thanks for nominating me for this award, Noriko. I appreciate it so much. β€
Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
- Answer the questions sent to you.
- Nominate around ten bloggers.
- Create your set of questions for your nominees.
- List the rules and display the Brotherhood Of The World logo in your post.
Noriko’s Questions:
Q: Briefly explain your blogging style (where is your favorite blogging spot/tools β as in, on the couch using your smartphone or something).
A: I mostly blog on my computer. I’ve occasionally used my tablet, but I enjoy using the computer because it seems faster and more convenient. I couldn’t use my phone for the life of me! I tried and it was way to glitchy.
Q: How do you manage your blogging time including blog reading time?
A: I don’t, in fact right now my schedule is completely spiraling out of control. I have books with deadlines, authors to interview, and I’m behind. I won’t stress about it and I’ll just do the best I can to keep up and catch up! π
Q: Who is your most read author?Β
A: Well, my most read author’s are Anne Rice and Nicholas Sparks to be honest. I think Anne Rice is my most read right now, even though it’s been years since I picked up one of her books.
Q: How did you come up with your blog name?
A: Well, I like to read, I like to rant, and I really like to rock and roll! π I’ve loved reading since I was a little child and music is a huge part of my life. I haven’t ranted much, but I do enjoy talking about things that I’m passionate about.
Q: What keeps you blogging?
A: This is a great question because I’ve come close to quitting at least twice this year and mainly because of time. Time is worth more than anything, but one of the things that keeps me blogging is when someone comes along and leaves a comment or sends me a message that makes me feel like I’m doing the right thing. To know that I have some true followers that enjoy my content is huge. I know visiting blogs and keeping up with your own stuff is a full-time job and just to know that one person takes the time to read something I wrote inspires me to continue.
Another major reason is my friend Nel, who’s more than once had to slap me around a bit. She’s helped me realize that blogging should be for me and not about stats. Not only that, but to accept that my content is okay no matter what anyone else says. It’s helped me put things into perspective for sure. I thank her for that and she’s a great friend.Β I appreciate the people I’ve come to know here and this is also a huge reason I want to continue.
Nominees:
My Questions:
- Who’s your favorite author?
- What’s your favorite reading genre?
- Do you read more fiction or nonfiction?
- How long have you been blogging?
- What do you enjoy most about blogging?
- Do you read ARC’s?
- Do you have any goals for this year?
So I read this on my desktop but then switched to my phone to respond because all of the emojis I’m about to dump your way. First off, I like how you keep it honest about not managing blogging time but also accepting and not stressing about being behind. I have the same exact sentiments in that regards. Secondly, your blog name is so awesome! π€© So simple yet inspiring how you came up with it. Third, I did not know you had a love for Anne Rice! That’s so cool! I saw interview with a vampire movie long before I even knew it was based on a book. She’s a great writer. And lastly, the most important part of this comment, I freaking adore you woman! ππππ I’m so glad we met and you keep me going just as much if not more than I keep you going so thank you right back and I look forward to all your future, amazing, inspiring, fantastic posts!! ππππππ You always know how to make my day. π€

Congratulations! Thank you for the nomination, too!
I have to say I also have read all of Anne Rice’s and was sent her most recent one to review… um still not got to that one yet… LOL Stephen King and Dean Koontz are also authors of whom I always buy their books! Although couple of SK’s newest offerings I didn’t actually like.
Have a great evening. π

Thank you, Sassy. I’ve heard that a few of the new Anne Rice books weren’t so great either. I still need to get caught up on Stephen King too.
Take care! π

It’s easy to get caught up in the stats of blogging rather than the fun of it. It’s awesome that you have such a supportive friend! Thanks so much for nominating me!

I couldnβt blog on my phone either. Just like the Gif, it would be thrown at the wall! And itβs been a long time since Iβve picked up an Anne Rice too but love her books!

I really agree with The Cozy Pages on this one Jen! Your blog is truly a ‘reflection of you’ as a blog should be. I think your time spent doing it will always interfere with other things and that’s why you just set priorities and get to it along the way. As you’ve said before, kids are only kids for awhile but your time is always yours to decide upon. I think you’ve done and incredible job with all you have to do on a daily basis. Just keep on being ‘you’ and all will be fine! π Lol. A little bit of motherly advice I guess.

Aww thats so kind. It truly will always be a time management issue, but I do hope to continue. It’s true that kids are only kids for so long. π Thanks for all the positive feedback and I’ll take all the advice that I can! It helps so much. πππ

I’ve thought about quitting the blog too. Mostly when I feel sad about something else and I just want to not connect with anyone but I absolutely love sharing online so even when I take breaks, I always come back and I’m glad you do too.

I personally thinks it’s hard work! Especially when you have a lot of important things to say like yourself. I’m glad you keep pushing on and you seem to manage your time well with all you do. You are inspiring, Karen! π

Congrats, Jen! And thank you! I’m not sure why I didn’t see this until now, but I’ve been having awful laptop trouble since Friday, so who knows!! I was glad that my posts for Mon through today were already scheduled or they wouldn’t have been posted!! I keep getting a blue screen, but then I keep doing all the steps Microsoft says to do to fix it…then it will be fine for a while then do it again. Urgh! Hubby says I have to do a factory restore, which he is going to do tonight, but that has me freaking out since I don’t have everything backed up… π¦
You’re answers were great! π Nel is very smart! I think about quitting my blog all the time. I even said today that I was so tired of it. But I’m sick with strep…again. And Kayley has strep…again (5x since Oct), so I’m just sick and tired. We did both just get over the flu 3 weeks ago, I just got over pneumonia 2 weeks ago, so I’m literally going PLEASE no more!! If I see one more antibiotic prescription, I might cry. She goes to the ENT on the 27th for a consult about having her tonsils out, and I hope they do it asap. They can have mine too. But I think I’ll have to take a blog break since she and I are sick again and if she has surgery. Then hubby and I are off on a cruise for a week in April for our anniversary unless help me I’m sick again….
I have a backlog of tags, but I plan on getting to them in May π β€

Wow! I can’t believe you guys are sick again. I’m so sorry and hope you’re better soon! I hope you both enjoy your cruise in April and you have some relaxing time!
Thanks for all your kind words and keep in touch. π Take care!

Me either! I’m just so done with being sick. They think her strep is resistant to amoxicillin, so she’s on omnicef this time around to see if that finally kills it! But she gives it to me because she sleeps with me…she is so attached to me it’s like the umbilical cord was never cut. And my meds have lowered my immune system, so that’s no help. I made my boys and hubby go get swabbed this time around to make sure they weren’t carriers, but they were negative. She’s back at school, but I still feel awful. It’s more mental than anything I think, and this antibiotic is making me feel awful. I’m just really sick of being sick. It’s stressful. I hope they remove her tonsils, but I worry about that too. I’m just in a bad funk. Even the thoughts of the cruise isn’t exciting, but thank you! Relaxing is what I need! Idk. Too many things on my mind I guess, most of them dark thoughts, which isn’t like me.
Aww, you’re welcome! You deserve kind words. You’re a beautiful person…in and out! π I hope you’re well.
