I learned about Flower Friday last year from Lorilin@Bugbugbooks and have been having a blast sharing some flower pics. Please check out Lorilin’s blog if you haven’t already for book reviews and more!
One of my all time favorite flowers to grow from seed is the zinnia. They are so simple to grow and bloom as quick as sixty days from sowing. This year I decided to have an extra flower bed of just zinnias alone and chose some unique colors including the queen red lime zinnia.

I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. We’ve grown some similar to this in the past, but these are just stunning to me. Butterflies also love these flowers! They’re so easy to cut and put together for beautiful summer bouquets.

These are annuals and must be planted every year. The seed is so easy to collect and you’ll have fresh seed to plant every spring. I’ll be sure to share photos of how this color turns out!

Thanks for checking out Flower Friday today!
Feel free to share your thoughts on this flower or let us know what you’re growing this year. Have a great weekend!
These are fun looking! I am not a fan of pink usually in anything but sunsets and flowers. I approve of the pink in these. Lovely post.

Very pretty! I like how the petals curl in closer to the pollen area. Thanks for sharing! They are very queenly and lime like indeed. 😉

My sisters have lots of Zinnias in their yards, but I have not been able to get them to catch on in my yard. I have lots of blue phlox, ferns, and Hellebore, though. 🙂

That’s interesting. I know our soil is fairly poor and they seem to do okay. I hope they eventually work for you. Happy growing this year! ❤

What a beautiful flower! I love how it changes color. These images really perked me up today so thanks Jenn. It’s cold and windy here where I am so pictures of flowers make me feel better. ❤

So beautiful! I love pinkish flowers! I am crappy at arranging flowers (i’m not a girly-girl as you might already know), but looking at those beautiful flowers always makes me feel great 🙂

We grew up with zinnias and I always loved them. They looked great when you put them on the path. I think the new garden will look just a beautiful! I look forward to the ‘Flower Friday’ posts. Maybe one on yellow roses some day? 🙂
