Day 1
There are many, many types of books in the world, which makes good sense, because there are many, many types of people, and everybody wants to read something different. – Lemony Snicket
My thoughts on this quote:
I’m currently reading A Series of Unfortunate Events with my kids and came across this quote in Book 1: The Bad Beginning. It really sparked a conversation between us. Not only is this quote true, but it really directed my thoughts to how lucky we are to have the variety of books that we do. I feel like this is especially important for children because by having a variety of books to read, they can truly expand and in turn, develop their love for reading. When it comes to books, there’s something for everyone and I’m extremely thankful for that.
I know a lot of you don’t do these tags, so no pressure. I’m tagging more than three people today. 😉
I TAG:
Noriko (I know you’re on break!) 😉
What do you think about the quote I shared? Have you read this series? Feel free to comment below.
A perfect quote – and so very, very true. Variety is the spice of life, right?

Great quote! I tried to read the Lemony Snicket books years ago, I got to book 3 and had to quit because THESE POOR KIDS JUST CAN’T CATCH A BREAK! 😅

Thank you. LOL! I know what you mean. I haven’t read the later books so, I’m really interested in finding out what’s going to happen to them. ❤

Just remember, they call it “a series of unfortunate events” for a reason! Ha ha!

LOL yeah, I liked the disclaimer in the very beginning explaining that. Guess we’ll see. Thanks! ❤

I’m with The Bookworm up there, though I must admit I’ve only seen the TV series on Netflix. But those poor kids! Holy moly, they just keep getting the sh*t piled on! I had to give it up, though, because Season 2 depressed me even more. LOL!

My 9-year-old starting watching the first season and then quit so we can read the books together first. We have seen the movie with Jim Carrey and that one covers the first three books I think, so we know a little already, but it’s okay. We’re still enjoying the books so far, but it kills me how things keep getting worse for them. It’s like, losing the parents you think how can anything get worse? But the part with Mr. Poe when they try to get help, and then with the judge just really angered me lol. I’m guessing this is the way it’ll be throughout given the series title, but I hope we don’t end up hating the series entirely haha ❤ Thanks, Vanessa. 🙂

I have never read them and wasn’t sure if they were for children or young adults or adults. I may have a look at the first if I can find it at the library, but if it is all stress and strife as some folks above say and indeed as the title clearly lays out, then that is not my interest. I’ll check them out when I remember to though!

They are children’s books, but I think older readers can enjoy them too. So far on the first book, the children haven’t really had any good experiences. They tend to make the the best of it and that’s something I like. If you read them, I hope you enjoy, Donna. Thanks. ❤

I am glad they make the best of it–I’ll let you know if I do try them. Thanks.

I didn’t like the A Series of Unfortunate Events books as a kid which kind of fits perfectly with this quote 😂😂 I LOVE this quote tho 😍😍 its perfect! I write a quote on my board at work everyday and I am going to use this tomorrow!

I love this quote and it is so true. One person’s favorite book or genre may be another person’s least favorite. I love that there are so many choices. i read the first couple of this series when I was working and reading them to my students, but have not finished the series. Maybe when my grandson is older.

I feel the same. What’s good for one isn’t necessarily good for another. It’s nice to read a little bit of everything too. 😁💖 Hope your week is going well, Carla.

So far, so good. Spent time at my local school today helping with standardized testing. Not my favorite thing but the kids really appreciate it. I was scribing for students with accomodations on their IEPs.

That’s so nice of you to do that, Carla. ❤ I can’t believe it’s time already for summer vacation though. My nephews are out next week. Coming up on half the year gone already. It’s crazy.

Man I believe I read these a long time ago but I don’t remember much. I’ve also seen the movie with Jim Carrey and I think I enjoyed that one. Haven’t checked out the Netflix series though. I’m pretty behind on everything though so that’s my excuse, hahaha.
As for the quote. It’s totally true and is the reason I love reading so much especially when you interact with others who may share your same lovable views or maybe they have opposing views and open your eyes to something you didn’t notice or just open your mind in general. Great share!

Pingback: 3 Quotes, 3 Days Tag V2 – Day 1 | Perfectly Tolerable
I’m just now catching up on blogs and somehow I missed this and your tag…I’m not getting all my WP notifications for some reason and it’s giving me other issues like immediately unfollowing me from blogs even though I click on the follow button, ugh and they are blogs that I’ve been following for a year…what in the world! Anyway, I think WP hates me!
Thanks for the tag! I have about 20 tags and awards to catch up on and am not sure where to start catching up (or even where some of them are since I didn’t bookmark them…oops). I love this one though and will do it as soon as I can…I’m planning my dad’s 70th bday party next weekend, Connor graduates the 12th and has his party the 15th, and Kayley’s 8th bday party is the 16th…I’m tired already with all of it and will be SO glad when it’s over, LOL.
I hope you are well! Hugs! I hope you had a very Happy Memorial Day! ❤
