This weeks share:

Songs from Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse

In Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse, Miles Morales balances struggles with family and his new school along with becoming a newly-made Spider-Man. He discovers other spider-heroes in the multi-verse and must find a way to help save them and the city from Kingpin and others.

Miles has insecurities and deals with multiple struggles including loss, but somehow has to find a way to believe in himself–to take a ‘leap of faith’ as Peter Parker teaches him. I loved the redemption theme with multiple characters and also the teamwork involved. It’s inspiring. The characters were all well-defined as well. This movie is like jumping into a living comic book. The animation is stunning and it’s fast-paced with plenty of action; in fact, after watching it subsequent times there were little details easily missed the first time around. I literally could not take my eyes off it. Every member of my family loved it and the soundtrack is amazing too. If you haven’t seen it, be sure to give it a try.

“Sunflower”

Lyrics:

[Swae Lee:]
Ayy, ayy, ayy, ayy (ooh)
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ohh (ooh)
Ayy, ayy
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ohh

Needless to say, I keep a check
She was all bad-bad, nevertheless (yeah)
Callin’ it quits now, baby, I’m a wreck (wreck)
Crash at my place, baby, you’re a wreck (wreck)

Needless to say, I’m keepin’ our check
She was all bad-bad, nevertheless
Callin’ it quits now, baby, I’m a wreck
Crash at my place, baby, you’re a wreck

Thinkin’ in a bad way, losin’ your grip
Screamin’ at my face, baby, don’t trip
Someone took a big L, don’t know how that felt
Lookin’ at you sideways, party on tilt

Ooh-ooh
Some things you just can’t refuse
She wanna ride me like a cruise
And I’m not tryna lose

Then you’re left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You’re a sunflower
I think your love would be too much
Or you’ll be left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You’re the sunflower
You’re the sunflower

[Post Malone:]
Every time I’m leavin’ on you
You don’t make it easy, no, no
Wish I could be there for you
Give me a reason to go

Every time I’m walkin’ out
I can hear you tellin’ me to turn around
Fightin’ for my trust and you won’t back down
Even if we gotta risk it all right now, oh

I know you’re scared of the unknown (-known)
You don’t wanna be alone (alone)
I know I always come and go (and go)
But it’s out of my control

And you’ll be left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You’re the sunflower
I think your love would be too much
Or you’ll be left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You’re the sunflower
You’re the sunflower
Yeah

Black Caviar & Blackway

“What’s Up Danger”

Lyrics:

Two-thousand on thermometers
Two-thousand surroundin’ us
Travel two-thousand kilometers
To hang out with us
What’s up, danger? (Danger)
What’s up, danger? (Danger)

Ayy, gettin’ old, they doubted us
Makes it that more marvelous
Sign ’em up, ’cause I’m in this vibe and I get synonymous
What’s up, danger?
Ayy, don’t be a stranger
‘Cause I like high chances that I might lose (lose)
I like it all on the edge just like you, ayy
I like tall buildings so I can leap off of ’em
I go hard wit’ it no matter how dark it is

I’m insane but on my toes
I could keep the world balanced on my nose
I had a slumber party wit’ all my foes
Now I wear ’em like a badge of honor all my clothes
If I’m crazy, I’m on my own
If I’m waitin’, it’s on my throne
If I sound lazy, just ignore my tone
‘Cause I’m always gonna answer when you call my phone

Like, what’s up, danger? (Danger)
Like, what’s up, danger? (Danger)
D-don’t be a stranger
What’s up, danger?

Two-hundred miles-per-hour wit’ a blindfold on (on)
Mama always askin’, “Where did I go wrong?” (wrong)
What’s up, danger?
Ah, what’s up, danger?
Traveled two-hundred miles, I’m knockin’ at your door
And I don’t really care if you ain’t done wrong, come on
What’s up, danger? (Danger)
D-don’t be a stranger (stranger)
I like it when trouble brews, I won’t dare change
I like it when there’s turbulence on my airplanes
I like it when I sense things I can’t see yet
Swimmin’ with sharks when they ain’t feed yet
‘Cause I like high chances that I might lose
I like it all on the edge just like you, ayy
I like tall buildings so I can leap off of ’em
I go hard wit’ it no matter how dark it is

If I’m crazy, I’m on my own
If I’m waitin’, it’s on my throne
If I sound lazy, just ignore my tone
‘Cause I’m always gonna answer when you call my phone

Like, what’s up, danger? (Danger)
Like, what’s up, danger?

Can’t stop me now
I said, “I got you now”
I’m right here at your door
I won’t leave, I want more
What’s up, danger?
Yeah, what’s up, danger?
Can’t stop me now, yeah
I said, “I got you now”
Come on, what’s up, danger?
Come on, I said, “What’s up, danger?”

  1. Michael Mclellan

Funny, I love Spiderman. I loved the 70s cartoon, I loved the Toby McGuire series, and I loved the Andrew Garfield movies. For some reason I still haven’t seen this one. I’m moving it up on my list. I’ll let you know what I think about the soundtrack. Have a great week.

    1. That’s awesome, Michael! I was never into Spidey or Batman really. It was always Hulk, Thor, and Wonder Woman. I’m really interested in your thoughts on the movie and music. The soundtrack is a lot of rap, which I like some, but it may not be your cup of tea. I do hope you enjoy it though. 😉
