This week’s share:
Winter is finally behind us!
Spring blooms
I do love winter, but spring is a special time too. I have high gratitude for all the beautiful blossoms and a fresh start.
I thought I’d just do a quick Flower Friday today sharing some spring blooms we’ve been enjoying.
“Each day, each season, each cycle offers something of beauty. Let us notice and give thanks.” – Diane Mariechild
Winter Rose
It’s been such a strange spring–cold, yet we’ve had some stray high 80 degree days. The winter rose is still in bloom which is so weird. It usually blooms late February to March but it bloomed in April this year.
It’s still hanging on and how lovely having it bloom for such a long period.
Lilacs
This has to be my favorite spring bloom. Everything smells do delightful outside and with the windows open, the whole house smells like lilacs. Luckily, we haven’t had any late frosts and they’re blooming beautifully right now.
Daffodils
One of the earliest blooms outside is the daffodil. These weren’t favorites for the longest time, but now I look forward to seeing them in spring.
I’ve shared yellow in the past, but these here are my favorite color. They bloomed in April.
It’s such a busy time trying to get the garden in and all the other outdoor work done. Hopefully I’ll have some interesting flowers to share this summer. I do hope to be back to blogging and writing book reviews soon. I’m still reading but mostly with the kids. Everything is going well here. I hope you’re all doing well too and that we can chat soon. 🙂
What spring blooms are you enjoying right now? Growing anything interesting this year? Feel free to share!

I love lilacs – I don’t grow them, but my grandmother had several bushes around her house, and that smell always takes me back there.

Isn’t that wonderful? I have that same experience with certain flowers that my grandmother grew. We had some sort of small lilac tree that died once I got into my teens. I’ve always wanted to find one like it. Thanks for sharing, Teri. 🙂

They all look so pretty! My mom has a green thumb and adorn her garden with many kinds of flowers. I think I saw beautiful daffodils lately?

Thst you for the beautiful pictures. We in India have a burst of jasmines in our summers. Since it’s been 4 months into summer already, I’ve been living the jasmine dream 😀

Thank you! Jasmine would be so wonderful. I’ve thought of just starting a pot that I could keep indoors. Enjoy the rest of your summer! ❤

My dog Tara loved the snow too, especially the fresh, fluffy one. Not so much the 5am quick-aim-shoot-return inside kind of snow. 😉

guess you are warmer. we have lilacs in bloom, and had tulips earlier, but that’s about it. still looking at the tree in front and thinking it’s dead–or mostly dead. and btw, i followed you, again. what’s up with wordpress?

Did you guys have some late frost? We haven’t luckily. Just been cold, but now it’s 70s.
I don’t know what’s up with WP. Every time I turn around it something. I can’t figure out if it’s the social media algorithm or what. Thanks for re-following! 😉

Thank you, Jenn! 😍 I wish I could send you some. It’s always one of blooms I look forward to in spring. Such a lovely smell. Did your special flowers bloom that we were chatting about a while back? I can’t remember which flower it was but remember you telling me about it. Anyhow, hope they did!

Yes! It was my peonies, and they did! They’ve made their way into a few pictures! They bloomed all of four days today, and I basked in their beauty! ♥️

Yes, the spring flowers always bring such hope that winter is finally over. I love those winter roses. They are beautiful and I am not familiar with them at all. I wonder if they would grow here, hmmm. You made me smile this morning. Happy Sunday Jenn. 😄

Carla, are you like a zone 3? They might make it with mulching. Just Google Helleborus and see if they’ll work in your zone. There are some really beautiful colors out there. I hope you can get some. Thank you! 💜
