Today’s share:
Lemon Queen
Volunteer Sunflower
In 2019 we had three volunteer sunflowers show up; two I shared last week. Here’s the third, which appears to be a lemon queen.
This volunteer sunflower is one of the tallest sunflowers we’ve ever had, and it’s the healthiest. It stands alone out in our pasture about fifteen feet away from the one I shared last week.
I love the way this one has multiple heads.
There are many more heads to come too–all the way down the stalk.
This sunflower ended up getting about 11 feet tall which is tall for a lemon queen.
Overall, it’s been a wonderful year for sunflowers! I have some others to share next week as well.
Thanks for checking out Flower Friday. Do you have any volunteer flowers this year? Feel free to share below! Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
