Marigolds and Pumpkins
We grew a few different types of marigolds this year…
Our pumpkin yield wasn’t as high as expected, but we did get some neat varieties and colors…
Thanks for checking out Flower Friday! Have a wonderful weekend!

Such a hardy little flower! I’ve come to love them.

Me too! They’re still going strong and fall starts tomorrow. I think they’ll be here for a bit. 😉

I love all of the colors of autumn! I haven’t planted marigolds in years and years. I should do that next year.

Me too! I’m very exciting for fall. It’s one of my favorite seasons. 😉 I hope you do plant some next year, Mackey.

My yard has been full of marigolds all summer and fall for my entire adult life. My grandparents grew them and I fell in love with their beauty and earthy smell at a very young age.

How awesome! Do you have many different varieties? I think my favorite this year were the ‘happy days’ variety because they’re so bush-like. I can’t remember the types my grandmother grew, but I remember how pretty they were. Hope all is well, Michael, and that your blog tour went well! 👍

I love your marigolds and your pumpkins, M! Marigolds make me think of my dad’s tomatoes. He’s always had the marigolds nearby to keep the bugs away. And your pumpkins are amazing! So much variety! No two are the same, and I love that!

We have some planted with tomatoes this year too! It helps to keep the hornworms away. Did you guys do a lot of canning? That’s the main reason I grow them. We are happy with the pumpkins but do wish the yield was a little higher. I’d hoped to give a truckload of pumpkins to our church for fall fest this year, but it won’t work out that way. There’s always next year though!
Thanks for checking out the post, Jen. Hope you’re having a great weekend, friend. Btw, I have the Hibiscus seed and can send you some. I’ll PM you on GR. ❤🧡💜

Beautiful Marigolds. I love that second all yellow one, very different. I only got one pumpkin from my whole garden this year. Lots of blossoms, but they just fell off. I think I need more bees. I am so jealous of all your cool looking pumpkins.

Thanks, Carla! Our pumpkins didn’t do great this year either. Too much rain I think. You wouldn’t believe how many plants I put in. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you have good years and bad years with certain crops. I dont know…maybe it’s just me, but our peppers didn’t do great either. Millions of tomatoes though. 😂 There’s always next year too. I wish we lived close because I’d love to share some with you! 💜

Thanks Jen. I don’t think I am going to put in a veggie garden next year. Being alone, it is a lot of extra work for me and I am not getting any younger. I would love to live closer because I would love to see your beautiful gardens and property in person.

It’s been years since I’ve tried growing marigolds. One year they didn’t do well for me, and I’ve never gone back to them, but I think I’ll change that next spring. Love your varieties of pumpkins!

Stunning pics! I loved planting the tall marigolds so they grew in bushes and didn’t fall down. I think marigolds are one of my many favorite flowers. Seeing the pumpkins makes me feel like I’m home. Great post Jen!

We grew some of those this year, but they didn’t get as tall for some reason. Still came out nice though! They’ve become a favorite and never used to be. Glad you enjoyed the post! 🧡🍂🎃

Yay, pumpkins! Also marigolds! I love those flowers, they grow well in a lot of places other flowers don’t make it. Plus they smell fantastic. Great pictures!
