Sigur Rós

“Njósnavélin”

Sigur Rós is an Icelandic band from Reykjavík. I first learned about this particular song after reading about it in Andy Marr’s book, Hunger for Life (click for review). I went straight to YouTube in the middle of my reading because the name was not familiar to me at all. Apparently, the song was in the movie Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise which I’ve seen, but that movie is nearly 20 years old, and I didn’t remember that much about it. Anyway, their music is mesmerizing to me, and now I’m listening to Sigur Rós quite often.

A few sites online state that the band is no longer together, but don’t quote me on that because I’m not sure how accurate the information is. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.
