This week’s share:
Lauren Daigle
“Hold On To Me”
I just finished up a new book, Live Your Life: My Story of Loving and Losing Nick Cordero by Amanda and Anna Kloots, which is the story of Amanda’s late husband Nick Cordero and his battle with Covid-19. The book is much more than just a story of Nick’s battle, sharing details about the life they shared and their families. I’ll be posting my review of the book soon because it releases on June 15th, 2021. Anyway, it inspired me to share this song today. “Hold On To Me” isn’t mentioned in the book, but many other songs are. I’ll share one of those later on with my review. Lauren Daigle’s latest song came to mind while reading this book because of Amanda’s unwavering faith. It was inspiring to me, and this song just seems to fit. Hope you enjoy.
Lyrics:
When the best of me is barely breathin’
When I’m not somebody I believe in
Hold on to me
When I miss the light the night has stolen
When I’m slammin’ all the doors You’ve opened
Hold on to me
Hold on to me
Hold on to me when it’s too dark to see You
When I am sure I have reached the end
Hold on to me when I forget I need You
When I let go, hold me again
When I don’t feel like I’m worth defendin’
When I’m tired of my pretendin’
Hold on to me
When I start to break in desperation
Underneath the weight of expectation
Hold on to me
Hold on to me
Hold on to me when it’s too dark to see You
When I am sure I have reached the end
Hold on to me when I forget I need You
When I let go, hold me again
I could rest here in Your arms forever
‘Cause I know nobody loves me better
Hold on to me
Hold on to me
Thanks for checking out Music Monday. Take care and have a splendid week!

This is so beautiful, Mischenko💜 I haven’t read Amanda’s book but I followed her sad journey through Nick’s tragic bout with COVID-19. This song (and video) really fits well and I’m looking forward to your review.

Thank you, Jonetta. She shares so many songs in the book that I connected with, but this one just seemed to fit with everything she and her family had to go through. ❤️ The book will stay with me forever, and I don’t think I’ll ever feel the same about the songs she shared either.

She does have such a powerful voice, doesn’t she? Her voice reminds me of Adele so much, but it’s definitely her own. Thanks, Noriko. 💜

Beautiful song Mischenko. I’m already on hold at the library for Amanda’s book. What a heartbreaking thing to happen.

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it, Kim. It was a five-star read for me. Even though it’s heartbreaking, it’s beautiful as well.

I’m glad you enjoy her music too, Carla. The book is excellent but so very sad. I just can’t imagine how hard it was. Her strength, faith, and perseverance is inspiring. 💜

I know, heartbreaking to lose anyone, but the way this happened is even worse. I want to read about her faith as well as about their life.

She touches on it and shares some prayers and verses. Her dad especially has been a huge influence on her throughout her life. Maybe she’ll write another book about her faith later on too.

Thanks Jenn. I was declined for the ARC, so will put it on my wishlist for when it is published.

I’d love to find out what their algorithm is for approving readers. 😆 Recently, I was declined for a book on Edelweiss, and then two days later they let me have it on NetGalley. 😂
It’s comes out June 15th, so right around the corner. 😉

I never know. I have been approved for books I never thought I would, I get a widget of one and then the same publisher denies me. Oh Well.
