Flower Friday: Kittens! and Pendulous Begonias Boliviensis Hanging Basket #FlowerFriday #Perennials #Flowers #Begonias

I discovered Flower Friday while visiting Lorilin@Bugbugbooks and decided to begin sharing some flower pictures from our gardens along with some information about them. Please check out Lorilin’s blog if you haven’t already for book reviews and more!

Today’s share:

Begonias Boliviensis

This is a new hanging basket for me. I’ve had begonias before, but never like this.

When I first saw it, it appeared to look like a Fuchsia, which has similar hanging flowers. I believe these are Copacabana, but they could be Santa Cruz Sunset.

I’m amazed at how full this hanging basket is, and I’m hopeful that it won’t need deadheading to continue blooming. I’ve been doing it anyway just in case until I do more research.

These appear to be red from far away, but they actually have a hint of orange-red too up close.

Our kittens are doing so well. Their mom, Sully, is doing such a wonderful job with them.
She hugs them often and watches them closely.

Thanks for checking out Flower Friday! What do you have blooming this week? Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I have a special place in my heart for orange tabbies. I’ve been missing my sweet orange tabby Theo terribly while on vacation. Another piece of my heart belongs to my gray tabby Maine Coon – Josie – who is a big girl, as Maine Coons tend to be, with the biggest paws I’ve ever seen 😍. The flowers are beautiful but I could look at the kittens all day. ❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful pics! The color of the red-orange is so intense. Haven’t seen one like this before. I’m hoping it lasts into the fall.
The kitties and mom are precious. I love that we have two more orange tabbies. Forsythe is beautiful too!
    Thx for sharing Jen!

      1. Yep, globe-like flowers.🙂 They look so delicate. What other plants do you have? We have a lot of lily blooms at present. Thunder lilies, iris lilies and the recent one’s fragrant lily- the ones you get in US.

        1. We actually have a lot of perennials that we’ve collected over the years. I’ve linked many Flower Friday’s above that you can click on. We do have many lilies! Some are just getting started.

Yes, I love those begonias! We don’t have any this year. What country are you in?

        2. I live in Bangalore, India. Also known as Garden city of India.🙂 We have a garden at home – fruit trees, flowering and ornamental plants. Added a few orchids to the collection last year.🙂

        3. Oh, wow! How interesting. I imagine it’s very beautiful! We only have one pear tree after all of our fruit trees were destroyed by voles. It’s something I haven’t had the courage to try again yet after losing so many. You should do Flower Friday! No pressure. 😉

        4. My first blog was just for photos. I don’t know if you know Cee – she has a lot of photo challenges on her blog. I was one of the regular participants. Closed the photo blog once I started blogging about books.🙂

  3. That hanging basket is gorgeous. I did not picture those flowers when I thought of begonias. I hope they bloom like that all summer for you. Those kittens are adorable, thanks for sharing them with us.

    1. Carla, me either! I’ve never seen these before, or maybe it was the color that caught my eye this year. My mom picked up the basket at a different greenhouse. It looked like one the hummingbirds would love. Thanks so much! Enjoy your weekend. 😀

  4. I love seeing the babies! That sweet photo of the three of them at the end! 😻 This is a gorgeous begonia I’ve not seen either! I have an angel wing that my neighbor gifted me via cuttings. It has lived for over five years now. I would love to find a basket like this!

    1. Thanks, Jen! The kitties have given us so much joy. The hanging basket is doing very well. I just hope it blooms all summer long! The leaves on this one remind of the angel wing begonias too. Have a good week. ❤️
