I discovered Flower Friday while visiting Lorilin@Bugbugbooks and decided to begin sharing some flower pictures from our gardens along with some information about them. Please check out Lorilin’s blog if you haven’t already for book reviews and more!
Last time I shared: Baby Mantis and Moss Rose
I’ll be creating a Flower Friday page where all previous Flower Friday shares will be available by links.
Today’s share:
Blazing Star – Prairie Gay Feather
This will be just a quick Flower Friday today. Today I’m sharing this gorgeous, purple Blazing Star also known as Prairie Gay Feather.
We have this growing near the back of the house in the landscaping. I wish it were in a better location so we could see it more.
The pollinators love this flower. It gets covered by the baby bumblebees. What I love most about this perennial is that it blooms all summer long.
Size: 2-4 feet tall
Hardiness/Zone: 3-9
Thanks for checking out Flower Friday! What do you have blooming this week? Have a wonderful weekend!

I love the thought of visiting baby bumble bees. Given how pretty the flower is, it’s no wonder they converge on the blooms. Great share, Mischenko!

They’re so cute, aren’t they? The one in the picture looks normal sized, but they’re very small. Thank you. 💜

I’ve not seen this before, and I love it, M. Especially love that the bees love it too. ♥️

Me too, Jen. It blooms for a very long time too with zero care! 😉

Beautiful! I think it looks lovely in the rocks 😍. I would never have guessed it’s in the Daisy family.

Right? It doesn’t look anything like them. I was amazed too. Thanks, Tessa. 😉
