A Really Big Lunch

Until I picked up this book in 2017, I hadn’t read anything by Jim Harrison. A Really Big Lunch is different from any book I’ve read. Even though Harrison writes well and I found myself turning the pages rather than taking a break, the menu was most unusual and even seemed disgusting at times. I’m not into eating snake, but I still enjoyed reading about his food adventures. This book is unique and definitely opened up my mind to new perspectives.
Harrison’s belief is simple: Quality of life is more important than quantity, and food is one of the ultimate pleasures. Life’s too short, so start eating now…and don’t forget the wine!
